OPPORTUNITY
Designers were asked to redesign the website of an existing non-profit according to the IDEO Human Centered Design Principles. This website was intended to function responsively, for mobile devices, tablets and desktops.
For this task, I chose to work with Mending Strides Ranch, a new equine psychotherapy barn in Mint Hill, NC. I made the decision to work with Mending Strides because I saw that the work they were doing was impactful and unique, but it was hindered by the lack of sophistication and usability of their website.
SOLUTION
Following extensive research on the client and their competitors, I conducted three interviews. The first was with the owner of Mending Strides and the other two were with potential clients and marketing professionals. I then determined a primary CTA for the site. Once this was establishes,
I created site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and finally a hi-fi prototype of the real site. I wanted the site to feel warm and welcoming, yet professional. I kept the design simple in order to create the most effective site possible from a functional standpoint.
